Focusara Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 September 2026

Focusara is a focus timer, habit tracker, journal and health log. It also includes an AI coach that runs on your phone.

Focusara is published by Muhammad Sulman Gull, trading as Techoship ("we", "us"). You can reach us at techoship.com/contact.

The short version

  • Everything you record stays on your device. We have no server, and we never receive any of it.
  • There is no account. There is nothing to sign in to.
  • We show no advertising and run no analytics, tracking or crash-reporting software.
  • The app connects to the internet exactly once: to download the AI model. Nothing about you is sent with it.
  • You can export everything to a file, and delete everything, from Settings.

What Focusara stores, and where

Everything Focusara records is written to a database inside the app's own private storage on your phone. It is not uploaded, synchronised or backed up to us, because there is nowhere for it to go — Focusara has no server and no account system.

That data is:

  • Focus sessions — start and end times, session type, and your history.
  • Habits — the habits you create, when you complete them, and your streaks.
  • Journal entries — morning intentions, evening reflections, mood and gratitude notes.
  • Health measurements — water intake, weight, sleep, blood pressure and pulse, heart rate, blood glucose, body temperature, and meals and macros.
  • Your settings — timer durations, reminder times, theme and sound preferences.

Health information

Some of what Focusara records — blood pressure, glucose, heart rate, weight, sleep — is health information about you, and in many countries the law treats it as especially sensitive. It deserves saying plainly what happens to it:

  • It is entered by you, for you.
  • It never leaves your phone.
  • We never see it, and we could not produce it if we were asked to.
  • It is never sold, shared, or used to advertise to you.

Because it stays on your device, protecting your phone protects it. A screen lock is the most useful thing you can do for it.

The AI coach

Focusara includes a coach that comments on your own weekly numbers. It runs entirely on your phone. Your questions and your data are handed to a model that is already on the device, and neither is transmitted anywhere.

The first time you open the AI coach, the app downloads the model file it needs — a one-off download of a general-purpose language model, the same file for every user. It comes from Hugging Face, or from our own hosting, depending on the build. As with any download, that request tells the host your IP address and roughly when you asked. Nothing about you, and nothing you have recorded, is sent with it.

If you never open the AI coach, that download never happens and Focusara makes no network requests at all.

What we never collect

We do not run advertising or analytics software. There is no third-party tracking SDK in this app, no crash reporting, no advertising identifier, and no device fingerprinting. We do not ask for your contacts, your location, your camera or your microphone, and the app has no permission to reach any of them.

We cannot tell how many times you opened the app, which features you used, or whether you use it at all.

Permissions, and why

  • Notifications — habit reminders and timer alerts. Everything is scheduled on your device; we send no push notifications, because we have no way to.
  • Run at startup — so reminders you set survive a restart. Without it every scheduled reminder would be silently lost when you reboot.
  • Vibration — timer and reminder feedback.
  • Keep awake and background audio — so a running timer and breathing exercise audio keep going with the screen off.
  • Internet — the one-time AI model download described above, and nothing else.

Who else is involved

Nobody. Focusara has no third-party services, no cloud provider holding your data, and no processors acting on our behalf, because there is no data of yours anywhere but your own phone.

The single exception is the host that serves the AI model file, which sees a download request and nothing more.

How long it is kept

For as long as you keep it. Nothing expires and nothing is pruned; your history is yours to keep or to clear.

Deleting the app deletes everything with it. There is no copy anywhere else, so if you want your history, export it before you uninstall.

Your choices

  • Export everything. Settings → Data → Export Data writes a JSON file containing all of it.
  • Bring it back. Import Data restores from a file you exported.
  • Delete everything. Clear All Data removes it permanently. It cannot be undone.
  • Turn off reminders in Settings, or in your phone's notification settings.
  • Skip the AI entirely by not opening it. Nothing is downloaded until you do.

Rights that apply elsewhere — access, correction, erasure, portability — are ordinarily exercised by asking a company for a copy of what it holds. Here the app itself is the answer: we hold nothing, so there is nothing to ask us for. If you believe otherwise, write to us at techoship.com/contact and we will help.

Children

Focusara is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them — or, for that matter, from anybody.

Security

Your data is held in the app's private storage, which other apps on your phone cannot read. The strongest protection for it is your device's own lock screen and encryption. Because nothing is transmitted or stored by us, there is no server of ours that could be breached and no account of yours that could be taken over.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and if the change is significant we will say so in the app. Should a future version of Focusara ever send anything off your device, that would be a significant change, and it would be described here before it happened.
